Fortis vows to build in the most sustainable and environmentally friendly methods. This starts with working with local suppliers to eliminate waste and environmental pollution produced by means of transporting materials across continents. To further push the boundaries of building green, Fortis works with Local suppliers who are able to repurpose and recycle steel. In Edmonton, Fortis works with suppliers providing 92.8% recycled steel. From end-of-life recycling of cars, and other steel dominant manufactured items, to scrap zinc and other recovered construction waste, Fortis creates an opportunity to eliminate much of the unnecessary contaminations of the construction process.
